James Inc. VS Herman Miller... Vintage Logo's War; No Mercy!

As I was talking to my upholster Jose Velasquez about our next restoration project, an early 1950's Thayer Coggin recliner designed by Milo Baughman, and showing him the vintage James Inc. card with lts logo stapled to the chair frame, I noticed something quite interesting…Check for your self… FUNNY HAHA!!!

Both manufacturers got in business at the post war era… Both are iconic companies that produced timeless classic by the masters of modernism design… So I wonder whose graphic designer really came first with their logo? To be continued...

Aymerick Modern space at the LA Downtown Modernism Show :

Big thanks to the thousands of people who decided to get up early and cruise the aisle of the Downtown Modernism Show organized by Modernica in Los Angeles yesterday. It was really nice to have all the major SoCal "players" of the mid century design furnitures "game" united for this event showcasing fantastic exclusive pieces.

But let's not forget as well this wouldn't have been possible without the support of my one and only Priscilla...Ask YOUR wife to load a full truck of furnitures after a 2 hours sleep night and head to LA on her week end and see what she said…LOVE YOU WIFEY!!!!

But of course, everyone knows the real Boss of the day was once again my boy Liam…hiding here behind his maman!!!

AYMERICK MODERN, CHAIRISH … AND JEN RISOM !!!

I got contacted by the people at Chairish.com, "where design lovers buy and sell", a few weeks ago after one their regional rep' came to visit the inventory of Modern Flamingo whom I share the showroom with, to advertise my scandinavian mid century modern furnitures on their website.

I had the pleasure to discuss over the phone the details of setting up a Chairish account with most likely one of their best assets, Cat Belluschi-Paulk who is such a delight to work with… and happened to be the granddaughter of master designer Jen Risom !!! In Hollywood, some might have a "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" but I have only ONE with Jen !!!
